Organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the Taiwan Halal Center (THC) has been instrumental in leading Taiwanese Halal industry players in expanding their presence in the global Halal market. The first-ever livestream Taiwan Halal products launch was held to introduce Taiwan’s premium Halal products, including processed food, beverage, health food, bio-tech and skin care products. In addition to the Halal certificate, most of these manufacturers also receive HACCP, ISO, and other international standard certifications able to produce and supply all kinds of relatively products with excellent and stable quality, often catered for different markets.
For this online launch, the Taiwan Halal Center teamed up with 15 leading Halal manufacturers’ brands from Taiwan including GUANG-DING, TENART, HI-Q MARINE, GRAPE KING, WEL-BLOOM, TAIWAN SMILE, ROYAL FAMILY, FENG JI, HUA-ZHE, WU HEN, SHIH CHEN, HEY-SONG, CHEN EN, DONG JYUE, YEN & BROTHERS.
The Taiwan Halal Center was awarded the Malaysia Tourism Council Gold Award in recognition of its achievements in promoting a Muslim-friendly environment and facilities in 2018. Last year, Taiwan ranked third for Muslim travel among non-OIC destinations according to Mastercard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI).
Mr. Walter Yeh, President and CEO of TAITRA stressed these achievements demonstrate that Taiwan has successfully attracted attention in developing the Halal industry. We want Taiwan to have a Muslim-friendly environment, and produce even more qualified Halal products for our Muslim friends around the world.
According to Deputy Director General GJ LEE, Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan hopes to jointly develop halal industry with other Muslim countries. Through multiple efforts, this year we have recommended 12 Taiwanese Halal manufacturers uploading their profile to Malaysia Halal Ingredients Directory, which is established by Malaysia Halal Development Corporation. We hope to build a bridge for bilateral Halal suppliers and manufacturers, and accelerate more industrial collaboration.
